According to foreign media CNET reports, Apple has provided HomePod beta software for some AppleSeed testers, and released the second version of “HomePod” update and iOS 14 beta 2 on Tuesday. An upcoming change means that users will be able to automatically play Spotify or Pandora with voice commands on Apple’s smart speaker HomePod without asking for services.

Although it could only play music from the company’s own Apple Music service, it said that in the future, HomePod’s tracks will include Spotify, Pandora and other popular services. After the beta update on Tuesday, HomePod users seem to be able to choose one of the services as the default music option.

As Apple confirmed via email, this update allows users to choose a default service for music playback, podcasts and audiobooks. If this works on Amazon and Google’s smart speakers, instead of requiring HomePod to use a specific service, users only need to tell HomePod to play a song, and it will search and play it through your default service.
