Overview of Govee Alexa Commands


Govee devices can be linked to Alexa by enabling the Govee Home skill in the Alexa app and signing into your Govee Home account. After adding devices in the Govee Home app and discovering them in Alexa, you can control lights, plugs, switches, thermo-hygrometers, and appliances with voice commands for power, brightness, color, temperature, and humidity queries.

    Enable the Govee Home skill in the Alexa app and sign in with your Govee Home account.
  • What steps are needed before enabling the skill in Alexa?
    Download Govee Home from the App Store or Google Play, create or sign in to your Govee Home account, and add your device to My Devices.
  • How do I discover Govee devices in the Alexa app?
    In Alexa, either Add device choose other then Discover Devices, or say Alexa Discover devices.

    Yes — you can set color, turn on/off, dim, brighten, increase, or decrease light brightness.

    Use phrases like Alexa ask Govee what’s the temperature of bedroom or Alexa ask Govee what’s the humidity of the bedroom.

To get started, select the “enable” button in the Alexa App to link your Govee Home account. After a few easy setup steps, you can control your device with Alexa commands.

You need to finish the following steps:

  1. Download “Govee Home” app from App Store or Google Play.
  2. Create or sign in your Govee Home account.
  3. Add your device to “My Devices” page on Govee Home.
  4. Open “Alexa” app, search for “Govee Home” skill, and enable it by signing in your Govee Home account.
  5. Now you can control your device via Alexa!

Note: If you failed to find Govee Home in step 3 please follow the steps below and try again.

3. Follow the instructions on Alexa App to sign in to your Govee Home account.

4. Discover your smart devices from the Alexa App. here are two ways:

1) Click Add device and choose other. Then click Discover Devices on the new page.

Now you can control your device through Alexa.

Here is the List of Govee Alexa Commands

Once you know the name of your device, you can say the following:

  • Alexa, ask Govee what’s the temperature of bedroom.
  • Alexa, ask Govee what’s the humidity of the bedroom.
  • Alexa, ask Govee what’s the temperature and humidity of the bedroom.
  • Alexa, ask Govee about the temp and humidity of the bedroom.
  • Alexa, ask Govee for the temperature and humidity of the bedroom.
  • Alexa, ask Govee to give me the temperature and humidity of the bedroom.
  • Alexa, ask Govee to tell me the temperature and humidity of the bedroom.
  • Alexa, set bedroom light to 10%
  • Alexa, turn on/off bedroom light
  • Alexa, dim/brighten bedroom light
  • Alexa, increase/decrease bedroom light
  • Alexa, set the bedroom light to red
  • Alexa, change the bedroom light to the color blue
