Behind the Roku, connection problems can be solved within a few, once the user knows exactly the cause of that problem by following simple steps, normally the most asked question on the internet is why does my Roku TV keep losing internet connection.
Generally, there are a number of reasons behind that internet connection problem, so step by step check go for a certain procedure and see that problem is fixed or not.
What are the Most Common Reasons?
- A bad Wi-Fi signal might cause playing to freeze or cause performance issues.
- Service may be briefly disrupted due to a power or router interruption.
- Additional network devices, such as game consoles or PCs, might be hogging bandwidth.
- It’s possible that the Ethernet cable for wired devices has become disconnected.
- The Roku device may fail or malfunction in rare instances.

The first step in the troubleshooting process is to determine whether or not your Roku is connected to the internet, and if it is, the available signal quality or signal strength.
- To access the side menu, press Left on the remote from the home screen. Then go to Settings by scrolling down.
- To access the Settings menu, press Right on the remote, then Right again to access Network. To return to the Network page, press Right one more time.
- There are two possibilities here. We may either use the Check Connection tool to test the connection or refer to the connection data on the About page. Off to the right, you should be able to view the information of the About page. The connection type, IP and mac addresses, signal strength, wireless channel, and download rates may all be found here. You are not connected to the internet if this information is not available or populated.
- Optional: If you are connected to the internet according to the About page, but you’re still experiencing issues, you can use the Check Connection tool. Scroll down to Check Connection and then use OK to start the test. A pop-up will appear showing your network connection status, internet connection status, and internet signal or speed.
If you are connected, and the speeds are acceptable then try playing media through a streaming app to see if the problem is fixed.
Here’s how to Connect:
- To access the side menu, press Left on the remote from the home screen. Then go to Settings by scrolling down.
- To access Settings, press Right on the remote, then Right again to access Network. To return to the Network page, press Right one more time.

If your Roku is connected but keep losing connection then what to do?
It happened due to weak connections:
Open the settings menu on the Roku, and then go to “Network” and then “Check connection.”
The device will test the quality of the internet signal and its speed, letting you know if your issues may be caused by a poor connection.
Assuming the signal strength and speed from your router seem sufficient, try turning off other devices that are using the internet to offer more bandwidth to the Roku. You can also try moving the Roku closer to the router to improve connection strength.
While you can’t connect a Roku Stick to the internet with an Ethernet cable, physically connecting a compatible Roku player to the internet via a cable will always provide the best stable connection.
If the problem still remains as it is, then contact their support center.
