For Aura and Halo Series of Locks Using App
If you know your current password, complete the following steps:
- Open the Kwikset app.
- Tap the Menu icon.
- Select Account Settings.
- Select Account.
- Select Change Password.
- You will be prompted to enter your old password, then the New Password fields must be filled out.
A2: If you do not remember your password, complete the following steps:
- Open the Kwikset app.
- Tap the Menu icon.
- Select Log Out.
- Select Forgot Password to initiate the recovery process
How to Change or delete a User from Access Account
Complete the following steps:
- Open the Kwikset app.
- Select the lock.
- Tap on User the icon.
- Select the user you would like to delete.
- Select Delete.
Last option if you failed to Recover or change a Code on Aura or Halo Lock Using above Method.
Factory Reset
A factory reset will delete all codes associated with the lock.
- Make sure the door is open and unlocked.
- Press and hold the program button for 30 seconds using the SmartKey tool or a paper clip. You will hear one long beep.
- Press and release the program button. You will hear one short beep.
Premis Lock
How To Change Code On Kwikset Lock Using Premis App
- Open the Premis App > Select the lock > click on user icon (upper right)
- Enter the user name
- Enter a user code or click on “Generate Random Code” > click on Submit. Add: User code must be between 4-8 digits
- Change “Access Type” as required
How To Change Code On Kwikset Lock using Premis Lock
- Keep door open. Press Program button once.
- Press Checkmark symbol once.
- Press Lock symbol once.
- Enter user code to be deleted.
- Press Lock symbol once.
- Re-enter user code.
- Press Lock symbol once.
Factory Reset
A factory reset will do the following:
- Remove the lock from your Premis app and HomeKit system.
- Remove all users, schedules, and user codes that were added inside the app.
- Remove all user codes that were programmed directly at the lock.
- Disable Auto-Lock.
- Turn on the Status LED if it was turned off inside the Premis app.
- Re-enable SecureScreen™ if it was disabled inside the Premis app.
- Unmute sound if it was muted from the Premis app.
- Initiate the door handing process.

Note: All codes may be deleted at once if the mastercode is enabled.
- Keep door open. Press Program button once.
- Press Checkmark symbol once.
- Press Lock symbol once.
- Enter user code to be deleted.
- Press Lock symbol once.
- Re-enter user code.
- Press Lock symbol once.
If the screen is not pressed for 20 seconds, the system will time out, and you will need to restart the procedure.
In case you don’t remember the mastercode and wants to change Code then you have two methods:
1st Method Factory Reset
A factory reset will delete all codes associated with the lock, and it will remove it from your smart home system.
- Remove battery pack
- Press and HOLD the Program button while reinserting the battery pack. Keep holding the button for 30 seconds until the lock beeps and the status LED flashes red.
- Press the Program button once more. The status LED will flash green and red several times.
- After a few seconds, the lock will initiate the door handing process, and the latch bolt will extend and retract to learn the orientation of the door.
2nd Method Programming Without a Mastercode
Activating the Screen
- Option 1: Touch screen with palm or back of hand until digits illuminate.
- Option 2: Touch lower left area of screen (where checkmark is located) until digits illuminate.
- Option 3: Touch screen with three or more fingers until digits illuminate.
Locking the Door
- Activate the screen.
- Press Lock symbol. Note: If no user codes are programmed, the door cannot be locked via touchscreen.
Unlocking the Door
- Activate the screen.
- If SecureScreen is enabled, touch the random digits that appear.
- Enter user code.
SecureScreen
- SecureScreen is an added-security feature that displays random digits before you enter a user code to unlock the door. This feature ensures that there are fingerprints on all digits so that codes cannot be identified by examining the touchscreen for finger prints.

How To Change Or Add New Code On Kwikset Lock Powerbolt 2
- Make sure the lock is unlocked and the door is open.
- Enter your existing Mastercode.
- Press Lock Icon You will hear one beep.
- Press 3.
- Press Lock Icon You will hear one beep.
- The User Code you wish to delete.
- Press Lock Icon You will hear two beeps if successful. If you hear three beeps, it was unsuccessful. Repeat from step 1 slowly.
- Test the code: While your door is open, lock it.
- Enter the User Code, then press Lock. The door should not unlock.
If You forget a Powebolt 2 mastercode?
First, we need to confirm your lock is “ready” to be programmed.
Step 1: To be sure, let’s reset the kwikset lock code
- Make sure the lock is in the unlocked position.
- Remove the battery cover.
- Press and hold the “Reset” button for 5 seconds. You will hear 3 long beeps after the 5 seconds is completed indicating the lock has been reset.
Step 2: Set locking and unlocking direction
- Make sure the door is open and in the unlocked position.
- Press 0 – 0 – 0 – 0 – Lock– 0 – Lock
Note: Each button represents two numbers (i.e. ONLY push the button once for 0). If you incorrectly enter the code, wait 10 seconds until you hear three beeps. Then you can try again.
- If the step was completed correctly, the latch bolt will extend out and retract back in completely.
Step 3: Test the Lock
- Make sure the door is open and in the unlocked position.
- Press 0/Lock
- The latch will extend fully to the lock position and end with one beep and the keypad will turn off.
- Enter 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – Lock
- The latch will retract fully in the unlock position and end with one beep and the keypad will turn off.
Step 4: Delete all User Codes
- Make sure the door is open and in the unlocked position.
- Enter the default Master Code 0 – 0 – 0 – 0 –Lock – 5 – Lock
- The lock will beep twice and the keypad will flash Green.
Step 5: Program User Codes
- Make sure the door is open and in the unlocked position.
- Enter the default Master Code 0 – 0 – 0 – 0 – Lock– 1 – Lock
- Enter a 4 to 10 digit code and press – Lock
- The lock will beep twice and the keypad will flash Green.
Step 6: Change the Default Mastercode
- Make sure the door is open and in the unlocked position.
- Enter the default Master Code 0 – 0 – 0 – 0 – Lock– 7 – Lock
- Enter a 4 to 10 digit code and press – Lock
- The lock will beep twice and the keypad will flash Green
