The new safety camera from Ring is a drone that flies inside your home

Ring’s new home surveillance camera actually takes off. The latest Always Home Cam is an autonomous drone that can fly inside your home to give you a view when you’re not home of any place you like.

The Always Home Cam returns to its dock to charge its battery until its finished travelling. When it begins selling next year, it is expected to cost $249.99.

The concept behind the Always Home Cam is to have various views in the home without needing the use of various cameras, says Jamie Siminoff, Ring’s founder and ‘chief inventor.’

He said the company has spent the last two years working on the device’s growth, and that it is an “obvious product that is quite difficult to create.” The company is able to produce a product like this and have it function as expected thanks to advances in drone technology.
