When pairing your Xfinity Remote with your TV or audio device, you must enter Xfinity Remote Codes. It uses an infrared blaster to send commands to the TV. These instructions follow patterns identified by Remote Codes.

How to Program the XR16

XR16 is a voice remote, that lets you control your Xfinity Cable box using voice commands.

So, to pair your Xfinity remote with the TV, point it toward the TV and press the voice button.

If nothing appears on the screen, you may follow the instructions given below.

The pairing procedure is different for the Xfinity Flex TV box and a TV or Audio Device.

To pair your XR16 remote to the Xfinity Flex TV box, follow these steps.

1. Make sure your TV and remote are both switched on.
2. Select the correct input option for the Xfinity Flex TV box.
3. Point the remote towards your TV and press the voice button.
4. On-screen instructions will display; follow them to enable voice control.
5. After pairing your remote with the box, follow the on-screen directions to begin volume, power, and input control for your TV.

To pair the XR16 remote to a TV and audio device

1. With this, you will be able to control your TV’s volume, power, and input control using the XR16 remote.
2. Press and grasp the voice button on your remote and say ‘Program Remote’.
3. If you are unable to do that, go to the Settings tab > Remote Settings > Voice Remote Pairing.
4. Abide by the instructions displayed on your TV screen to pair your TV and audio devices for power, volume and input control.
5. Check if all the buttons are working by pressing various buttons like volume, mute, power etc.

Is it still not working? Perform a Factory Reset

Hold down the I and ‘home’ buttons on your remote together until the lights on the remote begin to flicker.

To complete the factory reset, first, push the ‘Power’ button, then the ‘- arrow’ button, and finally the volume down ‘-‘ button.

Now try connecting your remote with the TV again.         

How to Program the XR15

The XR15 voice remote is similarly a voice remote, however, unlike the XR16 voice remote, it has additional buttons that can conduct a variety of tasks.

Pairing the XR15 remote with the Xfinity X1 TV Box

1. Check that your TV and TV Box are both turned on. Check to see if your remote is operating properly and whether it has the necessary batteries attached.
2. Hold the Xfinity button and the info I button together for a few seconds.
3. Continue doing so until the red light on your remote turns
4. You will be prompted to input a three-digit pairing code that will be presented on your television screen.
5. After pairing the remote with your TV box, follow the on-screen directions to set your TV’s volume, power, and input control.

To pair X15 remote to the TV

1. Make sure your TV is turned on and your remote is in working order.
2. For a few seconds, press and hold the ‘Xfinity‘ and ‘info’ buttons together.
3. The red light on your remote will eventually become green. That is your cue to go on to the next phase.
4. Enter the five-digit code for that specific TV brand.
5. The following codes are available: 10178, 11178, 11637, 11756, 11530, 10442, 10017, 11314, and 12731. Different TV manufacturers use different codes, so input the code for your TV.
6. If the entered code is legitimate, a green light will blink twice; if it is invalid, a red light will flash first, followed by a green light.
7. Press various buttons on your remote, like the power button and volume buttons, to see if the remote works.
8. One way is to press the power button to see if the TV turns off. 

How to Program the XR11

It is one of the first voice remotes introduced by Xfinity.

To pair your XR11 remote to a TV

You can do this by using a code or by RF pairing.

To program your remote using RF pairing

1. Check that the TV and set-top box are both turned on, and that you have the necessary batteries in your remote.
2. Find the ‘Setup’ button on your remote and press and hold it for a few seconds.
3. When the remote’s light changes from red to green, hit the Xfinity button.
4. Enter the three-digit code that appears on the screen.

To program your remote using codes

1. Turn on the turn and check that your remote is operating well.
2. Hold down the ‘Setup’ button for a few seconds.
3. Continue to push until the red light on your remote changes to green.
4. Enter the four-digit or five-digit code for your TV’s brand.
5. If the code entered is accurate, the green light on your remote will flash twice.
6. If the code is wrong, it will flash red once before becoming green.
7. Check the remote’s functionality by hitting the power button; if it goes off, turn it back on and test the other buttons.

How to Program the XR2

The XR2 remote is also small and easier to handle.

To pair your XR2 remote to your TV

1. Turn on the television and check that the correct batteries are in your remote.
2. Hold down the ‘Setup’ button for a few seconds.
3. Release the button when the light changes from red to green.
4. Enter the four-digit or five-digit code for the television brand.
5. If the entered code is correct, the green LED light will blink twice; if it is incorrect, the red LED light will blink twice.
6. Now, test the pairing by pressing various buttons, such as the power and volume buttons.

How to Program the XR5

This remote is small and easy to handle.

To pair your XR5 remote to TV

1. Switch on the TV and make sure the remote is in working condition as well.
2. Press and hold the ‘Setup’ button for a few seconds.
3. Release the button when the red light on your remote turns green.
4. Input the four-digit or five-digit code corresponding to your TV.
5. If your entered code is right, then the green light on your remote will blink twice.
6. If the entered code is wrong, the red light will blink first, followed by the green light.
7. Now press different buttons on your remote like the power and volume button to check whether the remote is programmed correctly.

How to Factory Reset Xfinity Remotes

If you still can’t pair your remote with your TV or audio device, rebooting the Xfinity remote may help.

Some remotes, such as the Xfinity XR2, XR5, and XR11, contain a setup button, whereas others, such as the XR16 and XR15, do not.

If your remote includes a ‘setup’ button, press and hold it for a few seconds. In the instance of the XR15, press and hold A and D on the remote.

To reset the remote, enter the code 9-8-1 when the light changes from red to green.

If the Xfinity Remote flashes green and then red, the set-top box is either turned off or out of range.

Retry connecting the remote with your TV or audio device.

In the case of the XR16 remote, press and hold the I button‘ and ‘the home button‘ together until the remote’s lights begin to flicker.

To complete the factory reset, first, push the ‘Power’ button, then the ‘- arrow’ button, and finally the volume down ‘-‘ button.

Now try connecting your remote with the TV again.
