Roborock Alexa Commands

The hands-free cleaning skills of a robot vacuum are greatly enhanced when connected to the Alexa voice assistant from Amazon. Once everything is set up, you won’t have to do anything special to get the cleaning party started, not even open an app on your phone or press a button on the bot. When you have a voice assistant at your disposal, all you have to do is tell your robot what to do.

First Connect your Robot Vacuum to Amazon’s Alexa to Enable Voice Commands

Connecting any robot vacuum to Alexa for hands-free voice control is the same regardless of the brand.

  1. Open the app for Alexa
  2. Tap More > Skills & Games
  3. Click the search icon in the upper right corner.
  4. Find the company that made your robot.
  5. Choose a skill for your robot. (Note: Some companies have more than one skill; look for Robot Vacuum or Home.)
  6. Click “Allow to Use”
  7. Follow the steps to link your account, which usually involves entering your username and password.
  8. Once the accounts are linked, a pop-up will appear to confirm this, and the app will then tell you to “Close this window to find smart-home devices.”
  9. On the next screen, tap Discover Devices.
  10. If the Alexa app doesn’t take you to your device automatically after the robot vac is found, go to the Devices tab and tap Discovered Devices at the top.
  11. Tap on your robot’s name to see what Alexa can do for you.
  12. You can change the robot’s name by tapping the settings icon. This will make it easier to give voice commands. (Pro tip: Don’t use a person’s name as a name. Instead, use something like “robot” or “vacuum.” If you use a person’s name, your voice assistant might think you want to call someone instead of running your robot.)
  13. You’re done!
